Posting guidelines

Great listings get more — and better-matched — volunteers. Follow these to set your team up for success.

  1. 01

    Write a clear title

Describe what volunteers will do — 'Sort donations at the food bank' beats 'Help needed!'

  2. 02

Be specific about time and place

Include date, start and end time, and a real meeting address (or 'Remote'). Vague details get fewer sign-ups.

  3. 03

Say what to bring & wear

List anything volunteers should bring — closed-toe shoes, water, gloves — to reduce day-of confusion.

  4. 04

    Set realistic capacity

Pick a volunteer count you can actually manage. Mark opportunities urgent only when you genuinely need help soon.

  5. 05

    Respect first-timers

Mark opportunities first-timer-friendly when no experience is required. Plan a 5-minute orientation.

  6. 06

    Log hours promptly

After your event, log each volunteer's hours. It powers their impact tracking and unlocks reviews.

  7. 07

    Respond to applicants quickly

Accept or decline applications within 48 hours. Use in-app messages to share logistics.

  8. 08

    Don't post:

Paid work, political campaigns, religious recruitment, MLMs, fundraising-only requests, or anything that violates our community standards.
